How to Make a Website For Free

If you have an idea for a new website, but you don't feel like spending an arm and a leg having one built for you, don't. There are many websites online that you can access that will help you create a website of your own and won't charge you a dime for it.

Most of these free website builders are willing to help you create a website for free because they then advertise on your website and generate revenues in that fashion. These companies are not fly by night operations either and in fact Google even has a free website building service that you can use.

Building a website using a free website builder couldn't be easier and can be accomplished in the following steps:

1. Choose a Template: Depending on the free website builder that you use you will have a choice of anywhere from ten to hundreds of website templates to choose from. Using template to build your website would be the same as if you were building a house that had everything done except the decorating. Choose the theme and colors that you feel will best represent your website and then begin to create it.

2. Create Content: After you have decided on what template you will go with the next step is to begin to create your website content. This can include the text, pictures, videos, or whatever else you want to use to make your website unique. Don't worry if you've never done this before because when you use a template it is as easy as click here and type a little and also some drag and drop. Most free website builders will have tutorials that you can check out if you need help.

3. Host Your Website: The last step in building your free website is to then have it hosted, which means it will go live online for everyone to see. Hosting can cost a lot, a little, or can even be free with some website builders that you use. Of course if you use a free service you will be limited on bandwidth but the amount you want to spend is entirely up to you.

While a free website may not be the most professional website that you will see it is in the end free. If you want to test the waters with an idea that you have for a website, free is certainly the way to go. If the website begins to take off and you need more features than what is offered by the free website builder you are using then you can always upgrade to a pay package a little later on. In fact, many free services will also offer a pay service.

Websites are for everybody now. You no longer have to be a genius to design and build your own website nor do you have to know how to write any kind of fancy code. Thanks to advances in technology, anyone regardless of computer or technical skill can build a great looking website for free. So if you have an idea for a website go for it, you have nothing to lose other than the couple of hours you will spend creating it.

How To Make A Website For Free - Using All Free Tools To Create a Website

In this article, I will explain to you one of the many ways of how to make a website for free. Have you been thinking about some ideas for making a website but you just did not know where to start or you did not want to pay a lot of money? Well, there's good news. Some of the websites out there actually allow you to create a website for free.

These sites allow you to make a website for free because they will use some advertising on the site which will allow them to make the money required for them to stay in business. The websites I am referring to are not "here today gone tomorrow" kind of websites, they are highly trusted. Google actually runs a free website building service that is at your disposal.

The actual steps to make a website for free are quite easy and I will explain them in detail.

Template Decision: Various websites have a different number of templates available to choose from. If you would like to have quite a few customizable options then this might be an important factor when researching website builders. When you use a template you are basically given the entire framework and the only thing that you will need to do is add the theme and colors that are the most appropriate for whatever it is you are creating the site for.

Content Creation: After you have picked the template you want to use, the next step is creating content. The actual content itself could be of any sort such as blog posts, pictures, articles, videos, or anything else you would like to have that makes your website unique. This all might sound complicated at first, but it is actually very easy. Almost all of the website creating programs that are available will have tutorials in case you feel lost.

Website Hosting: After you have finished creating the starting point for your website you will want to get it online so people can start checking it out. This is known as website hosting. The price for this service can vary but generally is very cheap and could even be free depending on which website builder you have decided to use. Again, this might be a deciding factor when researching how to make a.com website for free. Most free services, however, will limit your bandwidth which means you will be limited on the amount of content and pages you can have in total.

For a beginner, building a free website is a great starting point. Free websites usually do not look as professional as a website that is paid or one made using an HTML editor, but if the website you have created starts to generate traffic and you would like to upgrade it you could always get with your builder and see what plans they have available.

When considering how to make a website for free remember that website creation is not only for design professionals anymore. HTML coding is also a skill that is no longer required. The technological advances of today have made it possible for anyone with any type of computer to build a great looking free website. Remember that when making a free website it is all about the experience that you gain. These steps are how to make a website for free.

How To Make A Website - Some Beginners Steps

Making a website can feel like an overwhelming task if you are unfamiliar with the process. Fortunately, there are plenty of templates and guides available to make the otherwise complex process more streamlined and user friendly. If you need to know how to make a website, follow a few basic steps and you'll be up and running in no time.

Decide Your Content

The first step in making a website is deciding what content you want to put on your website. You can use your website for anything you want but it is important to know what it is before you take any other steps. This is important because it will determine what templates and formats are best for your website and will also make you aware of any special features you may need on your website. If you simply want to place text, you may not need any extra frills but if you are looking to start an online shop, you will need a variety of more robust features so that you can accept secure payments online as well as store important information regarding your inventory.

Pick a Domain Name and Hosting Company

If you already know what you want to name your website and have a URL or domain name in mind, go to a domain name retailer like GoDaddy and make sure that your domain name is available. If it is, you can go ahead and purchase it. If it is not, find a suitable name that is available. Your domain name won't be any good without somewhere to put it. Pick a hosting company that fits your budget.

Choosing a Template

Your hosting company will most likely have a variety of templates, both free and for sale, that will allow you to start making your website right away. Some of these options will simply allow you to click and change content to fit your own needs while others will provide more robust styles and will require you to have a professionally built website. In most cases, the simple websites will do the trick.

Letting People Know Where You Are

Knowing how to make a website does little good if people don't know about it. Make sure you share your URL with your potential audience through all available channels. Social media is a great way to get your website some attention. E-mail friends and family about your new website. Ask other people you know with websites to link your site on theirs. By making even small efforts to get your website some traffic, you will find it makes a big difference.

There are plenty of ways to tweek your website to make it your own. Though making a simple website is relatively easy to do you may find that you want to customize your webpages further. Look into learning basic HTML code to make more robust changes to your website and check in with your web hosting company to see what they can offer in terms of additional features for your website.

Make a Website - How One Japanese Infopreneur Cooks Up Profits

How do you make a website? What should my website be about? How do you make a website that is both profitable and popular? These are just a few of the questions that I am asked all the time. Today, I'd like to focus on one Japanese infopreneur that seems to have found the secret recipe.

The one thing that I think that we can all learn from this example is that there are thousands of great ideas out there. Just remember that everything must begin with the proper planning, niche and keyword research.

Cookpad.com is a Japanese website that has been profitable enough to become publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Its initial basic premise, sharing recipes. Why was this such a great idea? Well, for the most part, takeout food is almost nonexistent in terms of Japanese family life. Most families cook everyday. As a result, having a war chest of great recipes is an essential part of the survival guide.

Cookpad.com capitalizes on this and makes money in several ways.

1. Visitors are offered free access to the site's recipes. Additional features are available via the purchase of a premium account. The cost is 294 yen, about $3 per month. Experts agree that offering a free product is one of the better strategies for creating new business. People love free stuff. Those that like the free version are usually willing to pay for an upgrade. Companies like Microsoft, Adobe and many others use this same marketing technique.

CEO and founder Akimitsu Sano always believed that people would be willing to pay for access to great information/websites.

2. In addition to monthly subscriptions, Cookpad.com also generates some of its revenues via paid advertisements. Today, a good portion of website earnings are derived from advertisers. Cookpad.com expects to earn over $3 million USD in profits for fiscal year 2010. The total revenue for the year is expected to exceed $18 million. Not bad for a niche website right?

The creators of Cookpad.com carefully chose a niche to focus its efforts. The website is entirely in Japanese. The target niche market is Japanese women between the ages of 20 and 30.

Now of course, Cookpad.com is no longer a small single-page site. Currently, it features over 550,000 recipes. By comparison, Allrecipes.com has around 40,000. Food Network has only about 25,000.

One of the most important factors leading to Cookpad's success was its content. The importance is not in that it had a lot of content but in that its users created the content. Many users submitted their own recipes. Successful website publishers, marketing experts and entrepreneurs highly suggest this type of content.

The more pages that a website has, the higher it ranks with the search engines. Creating hundreds of thousands of pages on your own would be impossible, even for a large company.

By getting visitors to publish the content, you have an endless amount of unique original content, something that the search engines love.

If you're a website publisher, you might not ever be as successful as Cookpad.com, but you can learn from its example.

How to Make a Website - Websites 101 You need three things to start a website.

A domain name (such as yourdomain.com) Hosting (a server on which to store your website) Web development software or hire a web designer. Domain Names

Domain names can be registered very easily. They run from about $9.00 per year to $20.00 per year. You can register a domain name for up to ten years at a time. If you find a bargain domain registration, you may want to beware. People who sell domain names very cheaply typically have a very slow support turnaround. I have personally waited over four days and even longer for a response about a domain problem. (Four days is a long time for your site to be down) If you pay the full price for a domain, you can expect excellent customer service.

Domain names have many Top Level Domains (TLDs) the most familiar of which are .com, .net, .org and others.

What TLD to choose

".com" is considered the "preferred" TLD It is not suggested that you buy a domain with a different TLD if the .com is taken. Here is the reason: If someone doesn't remember that your domain is "domain.net" and they type in "domain.com", they will be taken to someone else's website. It is usually a good idea to register the .org and .net versions of your domain if you can afford it.

Hosting

There are three general types of hosting.

There are "Dedicated servers" where you have the entire server to yourself. If you expect to have a huge amount of traffic to your site, you may need a Dedicated Server. They are quite expensive. There are "Virtual private servers" where a server is partitioned off for different users.

And there is "Shared hosting" which is probably the most common and by far the least expensive hosting available. Shared Hosting can usually be found starting at as little as $5.00 per month for a tiny website. Virtually all hosting plans come with the ability to create one or more email addresses.

Creating the Web Pages

You can write your own web page even if you are not very "computer literate".

Site Builders

There are Site Builders available that you can lease. The Site Builders have usually an assortment of hundreds or even thousands of templates that you can use. You simply find the template you like, add your text and pictures, and publish the site to the internet. You can find a Site Builder complete with Hosting and a Domain for about $20 per month and up.

Development Software

There is development software available for purchase. Some popular brands are Adobe Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage. They are user friendly enough that if you can use a Word Processor, you should have no problem building a website. There is a consideration of the initial cost, which usually starts at about $399 and up for good software. And you still need to pay for hosting.

Professional Design

You can have your website designed by a professional. They can also maintain the website - for instance, make changes as needed. If you plan to sell items directly from your website, professional design or an eCommerce level Site Builder, are probably your only real options. Writing an eCommerce website from scratch is not for beginners.

Some designers will build your site around a Content Management System (CMS), which allows you to easily change and add text yourself. You can probably get a good basic website designed for about the cost of buying the software to do it yourself - about $300 on up.

Conclusion

You need a domain name, hosting , and some way to create your website.

For a small "Presence" website with one or two email addresses, you can probably count on spending about $10 - $20 per month. A full-blown eCommerce website will cost about $35 per month if you lease a Site Builder. You can spend much more for elaborate websites of course. Take time to find a good trustworthy developer if you decide to hire someone.

How to Create Your Own Website - Make a Website Yourself With These Helpful Tips

If you've decided to make a website, it's important that you create a quality website that will be rewarding. A good website is a great way to earn money, share a passion that you have, or to advertise your company. Of course, if you have a bad website, it will only waste your money and time. While many people used to rely only on professionals to create websites, it is possible to create your website on your own. Better software makes it possible for you to easily create the site without a huge amount of experience. If you are planning to make a website on your own, here are some helpful tips that you should use to enjoy the best possible results.

When you are ready to make a website, start out by choosing the site topic and the name for your site. It's best to go with a narrow topic so you are best able to optimize the site for the search engines. Choose a name that is catchy and make sure that the site name describes the topic of the website. You'll also need to ensure you don't use a name that is a registered trademark. Once you have decided on the name you want, purchase a domain name including that name if possible, making sure you use relevant keywords.

After you choose the topic and name for your site, you'll need to choose a web host and a hosting package. The host is the company that hosts your site so it can be viewed on the web. Do some research to figure out what you should look for in a good web host. Then, make sure you compare prices and find a hosting package that will meet the needs of your site.

Once you have a domain name and you are working with a hosting company, you're ready to make a website. Now you need to concentrate on the design of your site. While many people are tempted to go with elaborate designs, it's better to go with a design that is simple and professional. You want to make sure that the site is well laid out and easy for your visitors to navigate. Visitors will leave your site if they don't find it easy to use.

You'll also want to make a website that is ready for the search engines. This means paying attention to search engine optimization. You want your site to perform well in the search engines so you bring more traffic into the site. Make sure you use keywords in titles, in headlines, in meta tags and more. Just make sure you avoid going overboard with keyword usage on your site. If you use too many keywords, the search engines may label you as spam.

One of the most important tips to remember when you make a website is to make sure your site offers good content. People visit websites for good content. This may include text, images, audio, or video. Ensure your content is free from errors and that it offers something of value to your readers for the best results.

How to Make a Website - Useful Tools

When developing a website there is a lot to consider even if you are experienced and already understand a lot of the requirements and concepts involved. It makes it easier if you know what tools are available to help you out. Based on this I have compiled a list of the tools I find most useful when developing a site and thought I would share it with you.

Browser Extensions

Firebug and the Firefox developer toolbar

These are two different extensions for Firefox which allow you to both inspect the data and scripts that make a website page up. Firebug is actually my favourite but you may wish to check out the Developer toolbar as well. Do a search on google for 'firebug' or 'firefox developer toolbar'.

Developer toolbar for Internet Explorer

There is also now a developer toolbar for Internet Explorer 7 and IE 8 actually comes with the toolbar pre-installed.

These tools allow you to do things such as: inspect CSS styles sheets and Javascripts used in the page, see the individual CSS or Javascript events attached to individual HTML elements in the page, view header data, post and response data. Believe me, whether you are a web designer or web developer, learning how these tools work will give you a big advantage when developing and bug-fixing your websites. I absolutely cannot do without them on a day-to-day basis.

SEO for Firefox

There is a great little tool if you want to understand SEO. Search Google for 'SEO for Firefox' and you will find seobook.com which offers 2 tools for SEO - a toolbar and also an inpage set of SEO results.

SEOMOZ keyword extractor

This tool scans a web page and reports back the keywords and terms which are most prominent on that page. Basically, you tell it where your website is, then it tells you which terms your site seems to be trying to rank highly in search engines for. If the results aren't the keywords you've been targeting, you'll probably want to make some changes.

Browsershots

Browsershots is a great service for web designers that lets you see how your website looks in different types and versions of web browser. It can take a while to produce the results, but it has a comprehensive list of browsers and you can't argue with the price - its free.

Wave

It's good practice to adhere to to accessibility guidelines, and means people with disabilities will find your website easier to use. Wave is a tool to evaluate how accessible your site is - it will show you what you're doing right, and where you can improve.

W3C link checker

It's easy to get links right when you first add them to your website. But as your site grows, pages change. The same happens to external sites too, so links which once worked often end up at a 'page not found' error. This link checker scans every link on your web pages, telling you which ones work, which ones don't - and exactly what's wrong with them.

Site Monitoring with

Site24×7 - this free online service pings your site hourly and graphs response times and warns you if the site goes off line. For a few dollars a month, you can get checks every 5m and SMS alerts.

Wordpress

Wordpress is probably 1 of the greatest tools to be introduced to the web in the last few years. It was originally intended as a blogging tool but now - with the great range of Theme templates, widgets and plugins you can create a fully fledged website without having to write any code yourself. You dont have to create blog posts but can just create a site which has pages. Plugins such as SEO for Wordpress even help optimize your content for SEO without you having to understand this too heavily.

Google Tools

Google Webmaster Tools

Your best insight into how Google's search engine sees your site, statistics of the googlebot's activity on your site. You can even adjust the crawl rate of the googlebot on your site ie. this is useful if the googlebot is taking up alot of bandwidth and throttling your site.

Google Analytics

Completely awesome, interactive, online site statistics.

Google AdSense

Sign up for AdSense and you can make money by putting Google provided ads on your site. Google generate the code for you so you don't even have to write any yourself.

Technorati

If you haven't done it yet, registering your site with Technorati will help you track your interactions with the blogosphere. Who links to you and how much authority your site has. Warning: addictive!

Alexa

Yes, I know it's the subject of much debate but if you get reasonable amounts of traffic, Alexa is one useful way of benchmarking your traffic against other popular sites. It's also a useful way of seeing who is linking to your site.

Feedburner

Feedburner provides site statistics, simplifies RSS feeds, does some social network bookmarking (Digg etc.) and some other stuff. There's a WordPress plug in that automatically switches existing RSS subscribers over to a Feedburner feed.

Simple "How to Create a Website" Help For Beginners

Many small business owners and individuals who don't know how to create a website may think that they have to hire some company to create a website for them. For those who were very inexperienced with programming and design, this may have been true in the past, but it is true no longer. Creating a professionally polished website that is ready for publication has never been easier, and even someone who knows nothing about programming can do it -seriously, anyone!

Those who, in the past, have had to hunt for someone to help put their website together, already know the amount of frustration that can involve. For those who have begun a search for outside website-building help, it is good to be prepared for long waits, delays and finished projects that very well may miss the vision you had in mind for your site.

In addition, you are also at the complete mercy of whomever you hire -deadlines and turnaround times may be missed, delayed or ignored. In some cases where you're not familiar with the company you hire to do the work, you take a complete gamble, banking on them being fully capable of doing the work. And in some of those cases, you end up on the losing end of that gamble. A good thing to remember, especially if you don't have a great deal of money to throw into your website development, is that when it comes to hiring on the cheap, that is what you will end up with - cheap quality.

The Internet is growing exponentially, both in terms of size (the number of sites) and the number of users. Each hour people are online searching for things. This has generated a huge upsurge in interest by people hoping to bring their ideas and businesses to their respective niche markets. The competition is furious, and each individual needs all of the advantages they can possibly find. The ability to create a website in less than a week, and get it up and running is a tremendous advantage. Not to mention that the savings alone will more than make it worth the time you will spend.

There are some software programs out on the market now that show you how to create and design your website from the beginning all the way to the last page. Such software enables you to generate as many websites as you should need, without the need to pay a penny in fees for any outside help. By using a website creation program, you will be able to transform your ideas and visions into the world of virtual reality to compete with any website around.

When you begin using a website creating software program, you will be given a choice of different styles and templates. Many of these will be familiar to you from your own experiences surfing the web. They will also be well designed and of equal quality. Once you choose your template and colors, then you are ready to begin. Additional details to be added to the site will be easy to include, and you will receive instructions showing you just how to do it, guiding you step-by-step.

Picture this: you are the sole creator of a website and you are the one who carries the ball, no one else will change or tweak anything. You are the decision maker. For those who have had their entire vision turned inside out by other well-meaning web builders, you will definitely enjoy the opportunity to learn how to create a website, and the chance to be in charge creatively.

How To Build a Popular Website According to Google

If you want to build a successful website, do the following things. According to an ex-employee of Google, this will work good. Always!

1. Add content

Add content, add content, add content. Before you even register your domain, you should have enough ideas to build 100 pages on your site. Start brainstorming and see what you can come up with in 10 minutes. If that's not enough to fill 50 pages, consider not building the site at all. Having lots of content is important.

2. A simple design is better

The text content should outweigh the html content. Stay away from heavy flash, java, javascript, etc. Don't add to much stuff like 'best viewed with'... Your website should be viewable with any browser. Keep it clean and professional.

3. Keep the pages small

Smaller is better. Keep it under 15k if you can. Your site should be fast loading, or people will leave. Speed is everything. Next to content, that is. Keeping it under 10k or 5k if you can. Difficult, but people love fast sites. Throw away all the trash on your pages.

4. Content length

Put a new page online every day of about 200 to 500 words. Go to the overture keyword suggester to find ideas of what to write about. Spell check your content. Search engines can do it, and so should you. If you have a blog, go for article-like posts as opposed to the personal diary kinds of posts.

5. Use keywords

Use your keywords in the following places: title, description tag, heading, url, once bold, once italic and once high on the page.

6. Link to other sites

Put 2 links to other, high ranking pages on your site. They should be relevant to the content of that page and use keywords as your link. Don't add every link that's requested. Check their relevance first.

7. Link to your own site

Put links from one page to other relevant pages on your own site. Again: use keywords as your link.

8. Submit your site

Submit your site to Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, Msn, Hotbot, etc. Then forget about that for 6 months. Also submit it to every single directory you can find. Do a check after 6 months and resubmit if you're not listed.

9. Log and track

Most hosts provide these. Don't use a lame graphic counter. Check where your visitors are coming from to find out what traffic methods work best for your site.

10. Write for people

People are not coming to your site for your content. They are coming for their content. Try to write as if you are writing to one specific person, such as a friend of yours who's interested in the same topic. Don't try to write for 'all of your visitors'.

11. Stay ahead

If you know that something big will come out in a few months, build a page about it now. It gives search engines time to index that page so they can feed it to the growing anticipating crowd.

12. Add more content

This is so important: keep adding content. Do this for a year and your site will be a top ranking website within one year. You could've been there now, if you started last year. So start now, so you'll be there next year. You'll thank yourself (and me) later.

Top 4 Reasons to Create a Customized Website

If you've chosen to create a website either for your online business or for your bricks and mortar store you've probably realized that there are two basic choices. You can use a prefabricated template to create a website that will generally do what you want it to. Or, you can choose to create a customized website or hire someone to create it for you. While this second option is more expensive, hiring someone to create your website is worth it in most cases for several reasons.

One of the keys to attracting attention online is to stand out from the crowd. A website based on a template is going to look a whole lot like any other website that was based on the same template. If you are starting with a basic format there's only just so much you can do to make your website stand out. On the other hand, if you create your website from scratch it is almost certain that it won't look like anything else out there on the web. This will enable your website to stand out from the crowd and attract more attention than if it looked like every other site in your niche area.

If you create your own website or hire someone to create it for you, your website can more accurately reflect the personality of you and your business. Designing your website based on an existing template severely limits the amount of freedom you have to personalize your site. However, if you choose to create your website from scratch you can be sure that it will more closely reflect your business. A good website designer will be able to take your vision for your business and translate that onto the internet.

Creating your own website enables you to make sure that the site does exactly what you want it to do. If you are starting from a pre-made template you may have a hard time getting particular add-ons or applications to run within the template's design. However, if you start from scratch you can make sure that the features you want are considered and included from the beginning.

Lastly, hiring someone to create your website for you is a long term investment in your business. Sure, it costs a bit of money up front but it will pay for itself quickly. Any good web designer will offer some degree of technical support once your website goes live. This can be invaluable if your site gets hacked or if something just doesn't work right. A dedicated tech person can save you time and money by reducing the amount of downtime that your site experiences. Since your site can't make money when it isn't up and running, a web designer who offers quality tech support can be worth his weight in gold.

If you are thinking about designing a website for your business you might be tempted to just go with a pre-made template. However, if you want your website to stand out this may not be the best way to go. Hiring a web designer (or learning to do it yourself) and creating a custom website will enable you to be sure that your page does exactly what you want it to and is a good reflection of you and your business.

How to Make a Website

A tutorial of making websites can very well be written into a lengthy book as it involves a lot more than you think. This article serves as an introductory guide on how and what you should do to have or create your own websites. You should research and find more detailed information on each of the steps. You may or may not need programming background, depending on how you want to create the website.

Obtaining a domain name

A website starts at its domain name. Think of a cool domain name first, short, meaningful, preferably not a generic one if you intend for.com because that would very probably have been registered by someone else long time ago. Choose a domain registrar such as GoDaddy. It's the biggest domain registrar globally. After registration, they should send you an email confirming that you are the legal owner of the domain name.

Finding a web hosting provider

There are an abundance of them. In fact, we wouldn't run out of web hosting companies even after we have run out of mice. You can find something pretty decent to trust your website with at less than $10 a month. We recommend rackspacecloud.com and pair.com. After payment, they should be emailing you a bunch of important account details such as the login details of the web control panel that you can use to control your web hosting account, as well as the IP address, username and password of your FTP account that you use to upload your website data / files to the server.

The hosting control panel should be easy to use and both of the providers I recommended above have detailed tutorials on getting newbies started. Otherwise if you have gone with other hosting businesses, chances are you will be using a rather popular generic server control panel called cPanel.

The first thing you need to do in the control panel is to add your domain name to the hosting system and change the name servers of your domain name to that of the hosting account. It's all about authority delegation. After you have finished both steps, you should be able to type in the domain name address in the browser address bar to access your website, albeit an empty one simply with a list of files in the document root directory.

Create some web pages and upload it to the website directory

You may need to take a few courses on making web pages with easy to use IDE such as Dreamweaver or Expression Web. After creating the web pages and testing them on your local browsers, you are ready to upload them to the website directory on your hosting account (hosting server) via FTP.

How To Make A Website And Make Money - The Basics

One of the most common questions I get asked these days by those looking to make money online is how to make a website and make money. I always try to advise people not to over complicate this business and start simple, don't try to build complicated websites that require a lot of PHP programming and require high maintenance, but instead start out in affiliate marketing and make money this way, because the type of website that you build for this purpose doesn't take long to accomplish.

In order to make a website for affiliate marketing so you can make money online you need to understand the process. Firstly you need to find a profitable niche and this isn't as difficult as it may sound and I'll be covering more on this in my next article. Once you have a profitable niche you need to build what is known as a squeeze page or lead capture page around this niche.

When you make a website of this type you will only create three pages. The first page we have already mentioned and it's sole purpose is to have a great free offer of value and quality. Do not try to give away something inferior as your prospects will not be impressed and will probably unsubscribe from your list and you will damage your reputation before you even get started.

In order to collect peoples email addresses you will need an opt-in form linked to what is known as an autoresponder and the best one on the market which is often referred to as the Rolls Royce of autoresponders is called AWeber.

Do not think you can do this business and not build a list, I can't stress enough how important this is because around 80 percent of your online income will come from your list. It's also important to build and maintain a good relationship with your list.

The next step to take once you have your squeeze page is to create a thank you page, this is a page of your website that your visitor who signs up will be taken to where you have the opportunity to thank them for subscribing and to let them know that an email has been sent asking them to confirm their subscription and that the link will also take them to the last of your three pages which is the download page, as this is where your subscriber will access their free gift.

Once you make a website and you begin to build a good relationship with your list, you can start to promote niche related products to your list and you will make money and one of the best places to find products to promote is an affiliate network called ClickBank and you can find products with commissions as high as 75 percent.

So what tool will we use to make a website and make money? I use a free HTML editor called KompoZer to make a website for this purpose. This tool is known as a WYSIWYG editor, what you see is what you get. You can insert images, type text, insert videos and do this without ever much having to look at the HTML code behind the scenes and you will see the page pretty much the same way as your visitor will and HTML simply means hypertext mark-up language.

You'll also need what is known as an FTP client in order to transfer your website files from your computer to your hosting account, FTP simply stands for file transfer protocol and I'll be covering this subject in more detail in a later article along with hosting and how to get set up, but the most widely used FTP software used is called FileZilla.

Now that we are aware of what we need to know to make a website and make money, we need to find a good tutorial to take us step by step through the whole process in an easy to understand way. The best tutorial I used when I got started using KompoZer was Chris Farrell's Create Your First Website By 3:45 This Afternoon.

How To Make a Website - Some Simple Steps

If you have an interest in how to make a website, you likely know someone who has already embarked upon this path. That would not be surprising at all since a lot of people are increasingly trying their hand at making their own website. This has a lot to do with how accessible it is these days to actually make a website, which means that you do not have to be a computer genius in order to make a website, at all! In fact, with just the right mix of a moderate budget and the right determination to work hard at it, you should even be capable of setting up your own website all on your own in just a few days' time.

The first thing you ought to do is pick a domain name. Be certain to find one that is easy to remember so that the likelihood of people flocking to your site increases.

After this, purchase the domain name and locate a host for your website. If you find one company for both tasks, then you will save yourself some money in your quest of how to make a website. Two examples of popular companies are GoDaddy.com as well as Lunarpages.com. You have to be sure your wanted domain name is available, though. You have the choice of .tv, .org, .com and.net, among other options. The hosting and site host are your next concerns after you have settled on an appropriate domain name. For around $45, you can get a hosting package and domain name for a period of up to one year.

The hardest part of people in how to make a website is learning the HTML aspect of it. This will be required if you seek to edit your website at a later date. You should search for Internet tutorials on the subject, and once you've learned HTML, you can make your own HTML pages by utilizing a text-editing program like TextEdit or Notepad. While editing your site's HTML content, you have to know that you can preview the site before it goes online by just opening it up in a browser, right from your own hard drive.

You have to then upload your files, one of the last steps in how to make a website. You must upload your newly made HTML pages onto your website! To succeed at this, you require an FTP client program, which you can even get for free online. After you've installed said FTP client program, utilize it to connect to your FTP website.

After you have followed through on instructions to upload your files, check to see if your website is really online. Open your browser and go to your website to see if all your images are displaying properly, not to mention if all your buttons and links function well. If you check your new website and see everything is in working order, then you have just created your own website. Congratulations.

Making Money Websites - How to Create a Website That Generates Tons of Money

If you look at some of the most popular websites on the internet, you will notice that they have somewhat of a nice design. But although design and how the website looks is quite important to making money websites, it is not the key to making lots of money. In this article I will share a few tips on how you can start creating your own million dollar websites.

First thing is if you wish to have long term traffic or what I call, longevity of your website, it is necessary to have good SEO structure. The reason for this is because you want the search engines to rank your website as the top few, if not the top at the search results. If you are at the top, you will inevitably get many more clicks than the lower ranked sites. Because even though you have a superb looking website but no one actually goes to it, you won't have a single sale and you will not make any money. Therefore SEO is very important to the longevity of your website and, I feel, is at the forefront of a million dollar website.

Next, you will need to make sure your site has ease of functionality. What this means is that your site can be easily navigated. Its extremely frustrating if you want to go to a link but the link is invalid or if you want to click back to home but there is no link for it. Also make sure you use a variety of payment options if you are selling products. This is crucial because if you only accept credit cards, you will eliminate buyers who do not hold credit cards and you obviously will make lesser sales.

Another important tip is that your making money websites must be interesting and have lots of information of stuff that benefits the customers. For example, YouTube is Google's hugely profitable venture and how they do it is by letting users upload videos and its free to watch. So if you can have a website similar to YouTube then you're well on your way to a million.

Therefore, take all these tips which I have given to you and start applying it. If you apply these methods, you will have making money websites that generate lots of money for you in no time. There are obviously many other methods available on the net and i urge you to explore as many as you can because you must do whatever it take to make your website the best.

Tips - How To Make The Best Website

Making a website is not an easy thing to do. There are many things that you need to consider in website-making. You have to try to capture the attention of your viewers and keep their attention focused on where you want them to be focused.

1. Color - While you are still making your website it is very important that you properly choose the colors you are going to use for your website. The simpler the appearance of your website is the better. Most non-professional website makers commit the error of making a website when they use too many colors for their website. A white background for a website is the most basic yet the simplest and effective color to be used when making a website. Having a website with decent colors will surely capture your visitor's attention.

2. Content - The content of your website is the most important part of your website. No matter how beautiful and how properly designed your website is, if the content of it is of no use or not comprehensive then it will surely make your visitors unhappy. Have the content of your website connect to the needs of your visitors directly and immediately.

3. Loading Time - Another thing for you to remember is to try to make your website as "light" as possible. Remember that not all countries have fast internet connection. Some countries only have 1 Mbps internet connection speed while there are even others that have a dial-up connection. Keep in mind that your visitors are in a hurry and do not have the time to wait for the page to load for a very long period of time.

4. Arrangement - Make your website as easily accessible as possible. Having a visitor click too much link will irritate them and they will surely leave your website and not visit them anymore. Also, if you have some links on your site, make sure that they do not get in the way when your visitor is reading something on your site.

5. Pop-ups - Probably the most irritating thing for a website visitor is when he sees too much pop-up in just one website. Though pop-ups are great marketing tool to use if used properly, it is also good to know that they are sometimes irritating to some visitor. Use them in the right time and at the right place in your webpage.

Knowing those basic things when making your website will greatly help you in keeping a good website running for a long period of time. Always remember to keep your website updated so that people will know that your website is alive and not dead.

Build a Website the Right Way - Common Mistakes People Make

From a promotional point of view, there are several different tactics you can use when you build a website. We use a system when we're consulting with a client. Step one, we leverage off whatever we've got. We send any links off our own network to sites that we can do. Step two, we do some form of video marketing.

It's customized each time, but essentially the general steps are take a look at existing resources. If they've already got a website or if they're a franchise, for example, then there are other franchise sites. They have links off the mother ship so to speak. However, let's just take a small independent business. They've had a website up online. They probably have little to no search engine ranking.

One of the most beautiful things when you build a website is local search. It's so huge. If you're a barber shop, write barber and the city name. If you use this naming convention for your domain name then you're laughing. So do it however you want to do it, so that's an advantage.

We take a look at their existing site. We look at the mistakes they make on their website. Big mistakes on the website are generally, one, the banner is too big. Number two is the banner is not named, it's just 1-2-3. jpeg, it's not using the domain name or keywords. They don't have the keywords in the alt tags or whatever it is for that.

But their main thing, and this is important on YouTube and when you do internet radio, search engines are based on text. Write that down. So many people get excited about video and audio, make it and put it up but there's no text to go with it. They don't use their keywords well in their description of the video or the audio.

When we do an interview on radio let's say, we make sure we write an abstract that's a two to four sentence paragraph that has the keywords for the interview but also hopefully keywords related to what we do, which is get more customers. So, 'Today we talk to Joe Blog about how to get more customers using color graphics. Then next week we're going to talk about Joe Blow about how to get more customers using audio files.' Each time that you post it, you get the keywords in there and it's text.

So even though the audio is great and it's a twenty minute interview or even an hour long interview, search engines cannot read that. So many times I see people put content on their site that's just not findable, it's not searchable because it doesn't have a text that linked to it.

A big mistake people make when they build a website is that people put pictures on their site. Say you're at a conference, and you meet some famous person. You want to put a caption underneath the picture, 'X meets y and talks about how to get more customers' in the caption. Even when people do a Google search on images, they'll find you.

The first two steps are obviously leveraging off what resources you've already got. Then you want to look at your own site, do whatever on page optimization you can which would be both SEO and also from a conversion point of view when you're talking about the banners and things like that. Once they're leveraged off what they've got, they're cleaned up so that when the user hits that site they really do start driving some traffic. You're getting some benefit which takes advantage of what is the focus of what we're trying to do here? Why have you got this page up? We're not just building a site for building a site's sake. We want it to generate leads or we want to go straight to the sale, whatever the case may be.

5 Basic Steps to Create a Successful Website

Nowadays, almost everyone has or wishes to have a web page on the Internet and of course, a successful one. Whether you have a Personal or a Business website, your goal is to introduce it to your audience. Take the business website for instance: A successful business website is a site that makes huge profits by selling its products or services. But, without real visitors, you won´t make any sale. Your website would be a dead page. Thus, a successful website is the one that has a considerable amount of traffic. All of your efforts should be focused on getting visitors to your website and having them return or offer your website to the others. But here, I am not going to teach you how to increase your website traffic, since it is a very comprehensive topic. Rather, I will tell you 5 important basic steps to make a successful website. Following each step carefully will bring you wonderful results.

1. Finding a right niche in the market:

It is the first step which is too overwhelming. You have to provide your website in a specific niche, if you want to have a successful one. Suppose your passion is music and you intend to create a website about this topic. But, it is actually a very common topic which belongs to a very large market. Thus, there is a hard competition and the chances for success are minimal. On the other hand, you can create a web page based on a fact about, for example, various types of folkloric music in your country. Although, it has become very limited, but it is more specialized and of course more profitable. Besides, you might find the most related keywords and key phrases to your website. Today, it is not too difficult anymore, you can use a Keyword Search Tool to determine the most wanted and profitable keywords according to your niche.

2. Choosing a good domain name:

One of the most fundamental step is to select a unique domain name (URL). So spend a little more time and try to choose a good domain name which might be, for example, easy to read and easy to memorize. The more readable the URL is, the more simple to remember. Also, keep in mind when you are going to select some words in your domain name. It is better to choose a keyword-rich URL. That´s a positive factor for attracting the search engine spiders attention. Using hyphen (-) in the domain name is a controversial issue. Some people believe that it is better to have a hyphenated domain name, as it is easier to read and memorize. Besides, search engine spiders could easily find the keywords in the domain name. The others state that hyphenated domain name may be forgotten or mistaken for the non-hyphenated one. They explain that it is harder to describe a hyphenated domain name when said aloud, for example, in radio or a phone conversation. The best thing is to register both (hyphenated and non-hyphenated), if it is possible. Then you won´t lose the targeted traffic in the future.

3. Designing attractively:

You don´t need to be a pro to design a website. Everyone has a different taste and likes to design his/her site personally. That´s ok. But, remember to make it attractive. A very simple page without any specific layout might look too amateurish. But on the other hand, it has turned out that web pages full of graphics, frames, different colors, etc are not desirable any more. All of them slow down loading a web page which is unpleasant for visitors. Therefore, try to design a website that your audience feel comfortable being on your pages. Adding a nice logo, a simple navigation menu, some eye-catching images and suitable fonts are some positive parameters for designing your website.

4. Writing a powerful content:

Perhaps, that´s the most important part. Your audience will definitely find your site and like it if it has a powerful content. They are looking for some useful information, not you. They don´t even care about you, but your content. I highly recommend you to write a rich content for your website before doing anything else. That´s the heart of your web pages, so you need to spend more time to fulfill this important step. Anyway, put yourself on the shoes of your audience, think about it and prepare a powerful content which is naturally unique and useful. Also, don´t forget to check the whole content in many aspects such as literature, spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure and so on. After a while, you will see a lot of people finding your site, enjoying it and starting to spread it optionally.

5. Making the website profitable:

Now, it is time to potentially make the website profitable. If you have a valuable content, a content which presells, you won´t have any problem with selling the products and services. If you don´t have your own items, you can both put advertisements on your pages and become an affiliate marketer promoting others products and services. But, in order to monetize your site maximally, you should know some helpful tips. Try to choose the most wanted items which are highly related to your topic and content. Besides, you might select the ones that has higher commissions. If done carefully, you will only need to sit back and watch the great results.

The above mentioned points are too vital if you want to run a successful website with minimum costs. Those steps bring you almost free traffic automatically, if done properly. In other words, they are the foundation which enables you to make a website that works. Then, for more profit and better results, you may need to increase your website traffic through advertising and marketing. As I said before, it is another issue and can be discussed in another article.

How to Create a Website - Step-by-Step Guide

The question of how to create a website is of great interest for many people looking to get a piece of online real estate. While some want to build a website for personal use, most are looking to make money online or to promote a brick and mortar business. It is a fact that Internet is growing on a constant basis and billions of searches are performed each day worldwide, and while the world is a big place, the Internet makes it much smaller.

Creating a Website in 3 Steps

Purchase a Domain

The first step is to buy a domain name, with a registrar. A registrar is a company that provides domain registration. The average cost for a domain is around, $9 for .com's and less for other extensions. The domain is the web address of a website, such as, anything.com. There are several considerations for choosing a domain name, two of the most important being, branding and keywords.

Choose and Purchase Website Hosting

The second step is purchasing a hosting account. A website host is a company that rents their servers where the website files are stored and how the website is able to go live on the web. There are many hosting providers, but they are not all the same. Choosing a quality host is one of the biggest considerations in creating a website, because they are primarily responsible for your site's health, and ensuring that it is up and running all of the time, and this is referred to as uptime. You always want to choose a hosting company that will guarantee 99%+ uptime.

Choose a Website Platform

The next step in creating a site is to choose a design platform. This is the actual software that will be used to create the design. If you are reading this article, then it is likely you are not a professional website designer and have no knowledge of code. While the pro designers can build a site using hand written code, the novices and those who have no knowledge of HTML, or JAVA, which are the primary languages of website design, will need tools that are much more user-friendly.

There are several choices available for easy website building referred to as WYSIWYG. This is an acronym that stands for What You See Is What You Get. And that is exactly what it does, you enter content in English and it creates all the code automatically in the background. The good WYSIWYG software has drag and drop capability for images, navigation and overall design, they will have lots of pre-built themes to choose from. This is the best option for the amateur trying to build a website.

Making a Fun Website

Being an orderly, sensitive, intense kind of person, my humor runs on the aspect of the ironies of life, and though I enjoy a fun website, I would lose focus due to my mood variations. But there is an absolute, live for fun person sitting amid a heap of toys and gadgets, ready to bounce into the whirl of a fun website. For those spinners of fun and spontaneity, a few tips can launch you on your way.

Think as a fun person

When there is no fun, you make your own. You see the light in every situation, are quick and fun loving yourself, and will be the first to try new products and gadgets. You like to be surrounded by fun people, quipsters, pranksters, and roustabouts. Your work space is a play room.

Have a fun product

Your product can be your own creation, a site for contest, your own product, some fun novelty, or any one of many fun affiliate products. Get reviews of the product, photos of people using it, some event that showcases the product, or someone wearing it.

Give a fun presentation

Tie in sharp articles that reflect the value of your offering. Include any graphics, or other artistic endeavor if you are inclined. Keep it upbeat and focused. Even on rainy days, you are always entertained by your imagination, and spark. Making a fun website is 50% inspiration and 50% presentation.

Make it interactive

Above all, a fun website is interactive. Add polls, opinions, votes and contest. A lot of these will be in the form of widgets, small bits of code embedded into your web page. It is important to keep your fun site updated daily, with interactive activity. Test and chose till you get the combination that keeps your visitors' under your spell, and keeps them returning. Keep it fun and interactive, but do not make it cluttered, or confusing. There is after all, order in your madness.

Making a fun website is not for everyone, but we can only envy the zest for the uncomplicated, the measure of inviting us all into the circle of diversion. It may just be for you, a genius at the task at hand.

Create a Subscription Website to Make Money

If you create a subscription website you can make money on a continuous basis rather than by means of individual sales. The problem with an individual sale is that having purchased a product, a particular customer has gone - perhaps forever of perhaps until you have another product to sell.

The benefits when you create a subscription website, or membership website as it is often referred to, arise from you being able to maintain contact with your customers on a regular basis, and on a more intimate basis than with an unpaid internet marketing list. Here are some benefits of creating a membership site:

• Maintaining contact with your customers outside of a regular internet marketing list.

• Receiving regular payments, usually monthly, that you can count on coming in, month after month.

• Having a ready-made market for your products or for new affiliate products as they become available.

• Being able to offer new products to your customers prior to launch date.

• Giving you a whole month between communications to come up with useful information and products.

• Your subscription website is an excellent source of product reviews - ask you customers to review any products they have purchased, and include these on your site.

• When you create a subscription website you ask your members to participate in online polls that you can use to your advantage.

• You will become known as an expert in your niche, making it easier for you sell products outside your membership list.

• You can still maintain a normal internet marketing list, and gradually persuade members to join your membership site.

There are several more benefits, but let's discuss some of those above in more detail so you can better understand the benefits you receive when you create a subscription website

1. Maintaining Contact with Your Members

Once you have created a subscription website you will be able to contact your members any time you wish. A lot depends on how your membership site is set up, but you can either email them or place notices on the membership for every member to see. Generally, you will use the latter method for general notices such as information on the launch of new products that may interest them or additional to the permanent info-products on the site.

Rather than email individual members, you would normally use a Private Message system that most good subscription or membership site software will offer. They will be informed that a PM is awaiting them that offers information directed to them only. For example, if a member has a specific interest in a specific aspect of your niche, then you could use a PM to let them know a new product on the market that relates to that interest.

Alternatively, when you create a subscription website you might ask a specific individual, or a group, to give you a review or testimonial of a product - perhaps your own product that you give free for selected individuals to offer a testimonial that you can include on your sales page. You can do a great deal with members of a subscription site that benefits both them and you.

2. Regular Payments

When you create a subscription website, you are guaranteed monthly payments as long as your members remain with you. To ensure that, you have to keep them happy with useful information and not just continually try to sell them products. Unless they are getting good value for money other than just being offered continual sales pages, they will not stay members for long.

You also have the option of tying them into an agreement with you for longer. You can offer the option of 3-month, 6-month or even annual membership giving them discounts. You have the security of locking them in as members of your subscription site for a specific time period. Yes, you will have to offer a guarantee, but that applies to all members, and you are responsible for keeping the site interesting with fresh content that keeps them with you.

3. Maintaining a Standard List

Your members should not be on any other list but your membership list. You should still run a standard marketing list, with squeeze pages on your websites or forms on each of your web pages, and you should try to collect the contact details of those that refuse to join your subscription site first time round.

If you use a good autoresponder for that, such as AWeber or GetResponse, then you will be able to write a few messages that they receive on a regular basis, for example every two days for 14 days, explaining in each succeeding email a different benefit they will receive by joining. Your final email could summarize all the benefits, with a Subscription Link on each email.

You can also send a broadcast email to all list members at various times offering them special deals for joining, such as first month half-price or first week for $1. You don't lose through this because they are not yet members, and statistics show that once you create a subscription website and people join, even if only meaning to do so for a short period, they tend to remain as members.

These are just a few of the benefits and ways that you can use to create a subscription website to give you a monthly income you can count on.

How to Build a Website - What Do I Really Need?

First off, there are as many ways to make a website free online as there are hairs on the end of my dog's tail. So how does someone figure out where to start when wanting to make a website? Let me show you three areas to look at.

1. Web Editor - In order to be on the internet you need a way to build a website and a web editor is a tool you will use to do just that. They will range in costs from as low as free and on up to $400.00 or more. But what I recommend is that you use a free web editor to get going on your first site design. It is a great way to get started and some are very user friendly as well. They are very much like typing in a word document type of format and the best part is that the software is free to download. You do not even need to learn HTML codes to use some of these tools. It does not matter if you are building a one page site or a multiple page site everyone has to use a web editor of some kind or another. Even the big internet marketing gurus have to use a web editor of some kind.

2. Domain Name and Hosting - The next thing on the list is to come up with a name for your site. This is one of those fun areas I think because you get to label your website with your own personal touch. Now to own this unique name you will have to put out some money here but it usually is around $10.00 a year but that is not bad. Then you need to get yourself a host account someplace. These are the people that will help you to get your webpage up for the world to see. Now there are some companies that will help you to host your website with the purchase of your domain name. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. It really all depends on what you are using your website for.

But a word of warning here, be sure to do your due diligence in this area. There are those out there that will offer you free domain names and hosting, this is true, however they may be very restrictive in how your website can be structured and they may want you to promote ads that you may not want on your website.

3. FTP or (file transfer protocol) software - Now that you have created your first website and got your domain name you will want to load it to your host account. You will need some soft ware here to do this too. Again there are free ones out there and there are some that come with a fee. I recommend that you use some free ftp downloads to get started just to help keep your costs down. The free stuff is usually user friendly too and will load your website very quickly and it is a free download too. And that is it. Now I know you are thinking is that it? Yep, that is all you will need to get started.

How To Make Money Developing A Website

At the core of the ability to make money via internet marketing is a well developed website. While mostly everyone realizes a website is needed to promote an internet marketing venture, the attitude some take towards developing is not as motivated as it should be. Of course, those successful with internet marketing always put emphasis on developing a solid website. And here is some news: many of the components that go into a well developed website are not all that difficult to create.

What does the website need in order to succeed in the ability to make money online? There are a few components. These components are remain constant whether you are involved network marketing, pay per click marketing, or affiliate sales. For those in need of a guide to what a solid website should entail, here is a look at the main points:

The website will need to maintain solid, relevant content. Content makes the site friendly to both the visitors and the search engines. Sparse text and illustrations will not help your internet marketing cause. The website will need informative and entertaining content that aids in drawing visitors to the website and keeping them there.

Integrating keywords into the aforementioned text is also a must if the site is to attract the vital organic traffic to make money with the website. Keywords are the prime terms people will type into the search engines to find a particular type of websites. Would you not want your website to be the one they find? If you are interested in the ability to make money online, this is surely your goal. Be sure to properly research keywords and weave them into the text of the website.

Adding a sitemap to the landing page of the website is commonly overlooked by many. This is unfortunate because a sitemap can dramatically help the ability for a promotional website to make money. A sitemap allows the search engine robots to find and index all the subpages of the website more easily. The better indexed the subpages of the site are, the more potential traffic the site may receive.

Selecting a hosting company that provides enough bandwidth to handle the large amount of traffic the site may potentially receive is also advised. Again, the site's potential to make money will hinge greatly on the amount of traffic intended to be driven to the site. If the site cannot handle the traffic due to bandwidth issues, your internet marketing plans will be put on immediate hold as the site will crash.

It also helps that the development company provides an easy means of adding subpages or additional functions to the site as needed. The potential to make money might require altering the website at a moment's notice. As such, you will want a development company that can help you with such requests. While there may be additional costs involved with such a process, it will be worth it in the long run since your business will not be subjected to needless delays when you wish to expand the scope of your internet marketing website.
